Luchaire networked visualized and linked with Wikipedia
After some experiments with several GraphML visualization tools, I decided to make a visualization with the JavaScript based d3.js library. After some initial struggles and several currently unresolved issues, the service page now contains that network.
In contrast to the former diagram with Cytoscape.js on the same page, this diagram is a bit advanced. Persons and organizations are distinguished as in the original drawings and the edge types will be introduced soon.
With minimal effort, the nodes are now linked to Wikipedia queries for the name contained. If you click on “Gerry Bull” you can start reading the background information right away. Lots of names lead nowhere. If you click on “Christopher Drogoul”, then you will find that there is no direct entry, but the name appears on several Wikipedia pages on BNL and the Iran-Iraq war.
